Kadhi chawal is a North Indians one of the favourite dishes . It is a full meal within and everyone loves to eat this yummy dish.
FOR KADHI
INGREDIENT
1 cup besan
400g lassi
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 turmeric (haldi)
Salt to taste
2 tsp oil
1 cup onion
2 potatoes
1 green chilli chopped
1 tsp kasuri methi
INSTRUCTION
1. Put the pan on the gas stove on high flame.
2. Add 2tsp oil , 1 tsp cumin seeds , 1 finely chopped green chilli , 1 cup onion roughly chopped and 2 potatoes .
3. Add 1/2 cup water and cook for 2 -3 minutes until the potato become little soft.
4. While cooking the potato and kadhi masala , add 400g lassi in a bowl and add 1 cup besan into it and mix it until there is no lumps left behind.
5. After 2-3 minutes of cooking , add the lassi and besan mixture into the pan.
6. Now cook the kadhi for 7-8 minutes. After that add 1 tsp kasuri methi into the kadhi. Your kadhi is ready to eat with the rice.
FOR RICE
INGREDIENT
2 tsp oil
1/2 lemon
1 cup rice
2 cup water
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
INSTRUCTION
1. Soak 1 cup rice for 10 minutes and then remove the water and after that wash it for one more time.
2 . Now turn on the gas on high flame and put the pan on it.
3 . Add 2 tsp oil , 1/2 tsp cumin seeds , salt to taste , washed rice and 2 cup water.
4 . Now squeeze half lemon into the rice so that rice does not stick.
5 . Then cover the pan and cook for 10 minutes and check whether the rice is soft or not. If rice are not soft put 1/4 cup water and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
6 . Your rice are ready.
